The 2006 Annual Meeting of the Ohio Patient Network and its sister Ohio Patient Action Network will be held on Sunday, October 22nd at the Westerville Public Library in 'uptown' Westerville, Ohio.
Westerville's infamous link to prohibition adds an interesting twist to this year’s meeting. Westerville was the home of the Anti-Saloon League in the early part of the last century. The League served as the PR muscle that helped pass the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibiting alcohol and beginning the concept of prohibition as practiced today with cannabis. The League became defunct in the late 1940s, and their main headquarters (a brick house), along with an extensive archive, was donated to the Westerville Public Library in the 1970s. The two are now adjoined. What: Ohio Patient Network Annual Meeting Where: Meeting Room at the Westerville Public Library When: Sunday, October 22, 2006 Time: 1:00 – 5:00 (please note that these are the library’s Sunday operating hours. To allow the maximum amount of time for our agenda and discussion, please arrive on time.) Address: The Westerville Public Library 126 South State Street Westerville, OH 43081 The Westerville Public Library location on State Street in Westerville is really on Ohio State Rt. 3 (also called 3-C Highway for it runs through Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati). From I-270, the Columbus Outerbelt, take the Rt. 3/ State Street exit (the second exit on I-270 east of I-71) going north through approximately 7 traffic lights. The Westerville Public Library is well marked on the east side of the street across from the Stoner House (yes, the Stoner House!), which has a National Historic Marker in front of it.
