DRCNet. A national network of more than 21,000 activists and concerned citizens including parents, educators, students, lawyers, health care professionals, academics, and others working for drug policy reform from a variety of perspectives, including harm reduction, reform of sentencing and forfeiture laws, medicalization of currently schedule I drugs, and promotion of an open debate on drug prohibition.
Drug Policy Alliance. A national drug policy organization working to broaden and better inform the public debate on drug policy and related issues. Formerly the Lindesmith Center and Drug Policy Foundation.

Is My Medicine Legal Yet. Founded by medical marijuana patient, Jacki Rickert, this not-for-profit patient and care provider-based organization provides information and advances public education regarding the therapeutic use of cannabis.
Levelers. An Internet organization formed in the 300-year tradition of the Levelers, a alliance of agitators and pamphleteers who came together during the English Civil War (1642-1648) to demand constitutional reform and equal rights under the law.
Marijuana Policy Project. A national lobbying organization dedicated to minimizing the harm associated with marijuana and marijuana prohibition.

Students for Sensible Drug Policies (SSDP). Student organization advocating alternatives to the "War on Drugs," that formed after passage of the Higher Education Act in 1998 which denies financial aid to students with drug convictions.

Medical and Historical SourcesChronic Cannabis Use in the Compassionate Investigational New Drug Program. This groundbreaking study completed in early 2002 investigated the therapeutic benefits and adverse effects of prolonged use of "medical marijuana” among four of the remaining seven patients to participate in the Compassionate IND program, all of whom still receive cannabis regularly from the federal government.
GW Pharmaceuticals. This company based in the United Kingdom is currently conducting clinical trials on cannabis-based medications.
Institute of Medicine Report. Commissioned by the Office of National Drug Control Policy and released in 1999, Marijuana as Medicine: Assessing the Science Base represents the most exhaustive review of marijuana studies and literature to date. It established the potential of marijuana as medicine and debunked several commonly-held theories.

Marijuana Rx. A book by Robert C. Randall and Alice O'Leary who are cofounders of the Alliance for Cannabis Therapeutics, the first non-profit organization dedicated to reforming the laws prohibiting medical marijuana use. Robert Randall was the first patient to receive marijuana from the federal government in the Compassionate IND program.
OtherCarter Center. In partnership with Emory University, the noted organization founded by former President Jimmy Carter, committed to human rights and the alleviation of human suffering. Monitors elections worldwide.
