Week 1 Activity

Choose Speech Event & Analyze Audience

 

 

Completing this week’s activities will get you started in the speech building process.  These activities will also help you coordinate with others who choose the same sample event. 

 

·        Look over the four sample speech events and choose the one that interests you the most.

 

·        Read Week 1’s lesson and then analyze your sample event’s audience, occasion and facility.

 

·        After your analysis, go to OPN’s private bulletin board and post your answers to the following questions:

 

1.     Which speaking event did you choose?

2.     What kinds of people are likely to be in the audience?

3.     How do you expect the audience to feel about you and your subject matter?
