A Petition to the Ohio Legislature  

Whereas, the United States Congress and Federal government have declined to regulate the use of marijuana for medical purposes within the United States; 

Whereas, there exists irrefutable scientific evidence to the medical efficacy of whole smoked, ingested, vaporized, cooked, or extracted cannabis or cannabis derivatives; 

Whereas, numerous narcotic and non-narcotic substances are currently available to persons upon the recommendation or prescription of a licensed, practicing medical professional; 

Whereas, the difference between medical use and non-medical use of drugs is clearly understood by persons both young and old, and; 

Whereas, proper pharmaceutical regulation and distribution systems have been put in place in other advanced western civilizations without undue burden on either law-enforcement or anti-drug efforts; 

We, the people of the State of Ohio, in accordance with our moral obligation to provide the best and most effective medication available to those in need, whatever that form may be, do hereby instruct you, our elected representatives to the Ohio Legislature, to enact a suitable medical cannabis law(s) to regulate and provide for the recommendation and use of cannabis within the State of Ohio for medical purposes.
